About the Podcast
Talking off the Couch is a podcast that focuses on mental health and mental wellness with in the community of color. Based in Dallas, Texas, Talking off the Couch was created by Tatiana Smith who is a Licensed Professional Counselor. I decided that it is time to shed light and break stigmas about mental health and mental wellness in the communities of color. I want this podcast to be a voice for the mental health community as well as the average person who may be struggling and is unsure of what to do or where to go for help while having real conversations about life at the same time. Mental Health is important and it is something that you should not be judged about or made to feel crazy and Talking off the Couch will make you feel OK about not being OK all the time.
Tatiana Smith, M.A., LPC-S is from the South Side of Chicago and relocated to Texas for college in 1999. She is the Founder and Owner of T. Smith Counseling which is a private practice located in McKinney, Texas. Within her practice Tatiana helps individuals find freedom from depression, anxiety, stress, childhood trauma, anger, addictions, and marital issues. The goal is to help those who see her uncover their true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. Tatiana loves all things Chicago from the Bulls, Bears, Black Hawks, and White Sox (South Side) to Harold's Chicken (that mild sauce on them wings, Man!).
